Multiple people are in custody, according to the department.
"The scene is active but contained," a spokesperson said.

The Greenville City Fire Department and other law enforcement officers are assisting with evacuations.
The city's public transit system, Greenlink, is providing a bus with air conditioning for evacuees to stay cool, and the mall will be closed for an undetermined amount of time, according to police.
